Haven't bought an NFA item online before? Let's walk through the process here.
An NFA item is any item classified under the National Firearms Act of 1934, also known as Title II of the federal firearms laws. In this case, it will refer to suppressors and short barreled rifles (SBRs).
The process is as follows:
- You locate an FFL who their SOT and can handle NFA items.
- You order the item through our website, and pay - please include the name your local transferring dealer.
- Have them send us their FFL and SOT so we can process the Form 3.
Send it to FFL@Bauer-Precision.com, and please include the order number and customer name, and item ordered if possible.
- Once the FFL and SOT are received we will file the required Form 3 with the ATF NFA branch to transfer the item to your dealer.
We cannot begin processing these forms before we receive your dealer's FFL and SOT! There are no shortcuts to expedite the process.
- Upon approval of the Form 3 from the ATF, we will ship the item to your local transferring dealer.
- Once your dealer receives the item, they work with you to begin the process of submitting a Form 4.
- Upon receipt of the approved stamp from the ATF, your dealer can then transfer the item to you.
Denied Form 3's are rare, and are usually directly related to the dealer's SOT status. If we need to resubmit a Form 3, please understand the process begins again once we receive either an updated FFL/SOT or the new dealers information.
