USPS Shipping Status - "Pre-Shipment"

We get this question a lot, and while we thought the USPS' site was pretty decent at providing a status, here goes.

USPS tracking information will take anywhere from 24-72 hours to update, depending on when your label is printed, and package is picked up. Until the USPS scans in the package as "arrived" at their location, it will show as "Pre-Shipment".

This could mean one of a few few things:

  • We printed the label but have no shipped the package yet.
  • Your order has been packed and is waiting for pickup.
  • USPS did not scan your package yet, or hasn't done so correctly.

Here is a screenshot of the status on USPS' site with the pertinent information highlighted:

USPS Pre-Shipment

If your order has been in "Pre-shipment" for less than 5 business days, please know that we're doing our best to ship every order as fast as possible. Some orders get delayed a little. Otherwise get mis-scanned by the USPS. Sending us an email within 1-2 days of a label being printed is just going to burn through precious time we could have been using to ship orders.

If your order has been in this status for more than 5 business days, please feel free to email us at Orders@Bauer-Precision.com and we'll be happy to take a look into the status for you!
